Athletic Development

Athletic development and strength coaching isn’t just about lifting heavier or training harder — it’s about training smarter. By focusing on tailored strength work, movement quality, and structured progression, we help you build resilience, improve performance, and lower the risk of injury. Whether you’re aiming for peak performance in sport or simply want to move better in daily life, we’ll give you the strength, speed, and confidence to perform at your best, for longer.

Performance Testing & Feedback

At ProCare, we use force plates and dynamometers to accurately measure how your muscles perform under load. This allows us to spot weaknesses, imbalances, and progress over time—removing the guesswork from your rehab. Thanks to our partnership with Strength by Numbers, we use state-of-the-art equipment and access a large pool of comparative data. That means you get instant, meaningful feedback on how your results match up to age- and gender-specific averages—helping to keep your rehab both precise and motivating.

Why Use Force Plates & Strength Testing?

Force plates measure the ground reaction forces when you move, giving us detailed insight into your balance, posture, power, and control. This is especially valuable when recovering from sports injuries, such as ACL tears, or when addressing performance issues. By combining these tests with force dynamometry testing (a measurement tool which measures peak and rate of force development), we can pinpoint weaknesses and design a more accurate, effective rehab plan—so recovery is faster, safer, and based on clear data, not guesswork.

How it Works

We use a mix of strength and jump tests to build a complete picture of your performance:

  • Strength tests (bilateral and single-leg) measure overall force, rate of force development, and imbalances.
  • Jump tests (such as countermovement jumps, squat jumps, and hop drills) assess jump height, power, and reactive strength.

This detailed information shapes your rehab programme and training, making sure each step is safe, effective, and tailored to your needs.

Is a Force Plate Assessment Right for You?

We recommend this type of testing if you’re returning from injury (especially ACL or lower-limb injuries), competing in sport at a high level, or struggling with recurring aches, strains, or performance dips. These assessments guide your rehab, reduce risk of re-injury, and give you the confidence that you’re truly ready to perform at your best.
